For my advanced multimedia class, I created an animated event poster using Adobe Illustrator and After Effects. The assignment required us to choose a local business and design a poster promoting one of their events. The poster needed to include key event details as well as custom graphics that visually represented the theme. After completing the illustration in Illustrator, I exported it into After Effects to animate each element. A key part of the process was organizing the artwork into separate layers in Illustrator—this made it possible to animate individual pieces. If the layers weren’t set up correctly, it required a lot of back-and-forth between the two programs to fix the issues. The project was a great exercise in combining illustration and motion design to create a visually engaging, professional-quality animated poster.
