Meet the Maker
I grew up in Ridgefield, WA, where my passion for learning and creating first took root. After spending a year at Clark College, I decided to shift my focus to a more hands-on career, earning my Associate of Applied Science degree from Heald College. I then spent eight years as a medical assistant, gaining valuable experience in patient care and the medical field. While I found fulfillment in helping others, I realized something was missing—I craved a career that allowed me to use my creativity every day.
Life is too short to settle, so I made the leap to pursue something that truly inspires me. I returned to school to earn my bachelor’s degree in Digital Technology at WSU Vancouver, diving into a field that blends problem-solving, design, and technical skills. Now, I’m channeling my passion into crafting compelling digital experiences, helping businesses and individuals bring their ideas to life with creativity and hands-on expertise.
Printmaking Magic
In Professor Higgs' beginner printmaking class, I created a unique print using a press, black ink, and a touch of extender. By incorporating a masking layer and pulling a ghost print, I achieved a striking layered effect that adds depth and texture to the piece. The process was a fun exploration of technique, leaving behind an unexpected yet awesome result.
Layers of Creativity
Another print from Professor Higgs’ class explores layering colors, masking layers, and stencils to create a bold and dynamic composition. Each layer adds depth, making every print unique in its own way. With multiple variations, each piece carries its own character, making it hard to choose a favorite. The unpredictability of the process is what makes printmaking so exciting—every pull of the press reveals something new.
